What's it all about?
Hypnosis is a very natural state of being. In fact we all experience a light hypnotic state at some point during a regular day. Maybe you've been driving down the motorway and found you've missed your turn off, perhaps you've been watching TV when suddenly you realise that 10 or 15 minutes have passed, or even gazing intently into an open fire of an evening? These are all examples of light hypnotic states.
In hypnotherapy the aim is to use our natural hypnotic abilities in a therapeutic context. Therefore I don't treat people with hypnosis, but rather treat people whilst in a state of hypnosis.
There's nothing mystical involved and it couldn't be further from the stage acts that many associate with the word hypnosis. By inducing a hypnotic state, or an altered state of consciousness, its possible to use therapeutic techniques to communicate with the unconscious part of our mind. You might like to think of it as the right or creative side of the brain, that part of ouselves where long term memories are stored.
No one can be hypnotised against their will, and you will remain in complete control throughout your session with me. In fact your session with me will help you recognise that you really do have the ability to take control, to allow you to grow as a person, and to enable you to become the person you deserve to be.
